Recycling Initiative

At The Learning Farm, it is our goal to reuse as many items as possible, and reduce the waste we produce. Sadly, the land that the farm sits on was used as a dumping ground by the previous owners for several decades. However, there is a silver lining! While cleaning, we found many items that we could repurpose. Some examples include:

Our lanterns are made from old cider bottles

Our water jars for painting are made from old key lime jam jars

Our earring cards are made from recycled cereal box cardboard

Our center piece containers are various glass pieces we found

A lot of our decor is made from items we found in the garbage piles - antique car parts, farm equipment and tools

The items that we could not repurpose were disposed of appropriately so that we can begin restoring the land. We now have flowers and see pollinators and butterflies around daily!
